The Sahara desert.

Some pictures from our visit's to Sahara. (We've been there a few times by now.) They say that once you go to the desert, you will definitively come back. I didn't believe them. But, I'm convinced. I'll go there again in October 1999.

Going down a steep sand dune.

This is more or less how steep the sand can be. I promise you, that one does actually stand on the left foot in this situation.

The lifted car from behind.

The car is rather raised. Sometimes it creates difficulties.

These people live here.

Can you imagine that these people (called Les Berberes in French) actually live in the middle of this nowhere? When we met this family, we had already been going for three days, by car. They did not have any horses, no dromedars, not even a donkey. But, they had about 80 sheep. They had never seen what we call 'civilization'.
