Canin Trophy at Gotland.
Since many years,
the off-roaders at
Gotland,
an island of
Sweden,
arranges an off-road meeting in the middle of the summer.
A vaste majority of the Swedish off-roaders come here for the meeting.
The meeting is divided in both a serious trial competition,
that makes one of the competitions in the Swedish Off-road Trial Cup,
and also a free meeting for fun.
Very often the participants in the free meeting consists of complete families,
including their children.
The happening is organized by Gotlands Terräng Gäng, GTG.
Translated into English this becomes "The terrain gang of Gotland".
In 1996,
the organizers expanded the meeting to one complete week,
compared to the traditional week-end.
They also introduced the concept of having organized activities during the week.
This was said to be a test version of the Canin Trophy.
The trophy will be more defined and organized during the summer of 1997.
