I like home electronics. First of all, I do not have enough knowledge to do any more complicated constructions on my own. And I am too lazy to build my own PC boards. So, I sometimes buy electronic kits to assemble. There is a company in Belgium, called Velleman, that makes very good kits. The kits are complete, and the constructions seems to be very reliable. They have kits for a lot of different areas of control electronics, and also quite a lot of audio equipment.
Another source is ELFA in Sweden. Their catalogue is just outstanding.
